Unlike most films that are about race, this film gets the point that it is not just about race, but a social problem at large. If the blacks can get a better education, a better neighborhood, and a better job, then probably they do not need to sell drugs or do other unlawful things. "Breaking the cycle" seems to be the most memorable words, proverb or take-away of the film.
At first I pitied the young blacked man, but when starr held the hairbrush and threatened the poor girl, I finally saw why all these were happening to black people, cz they deserved it. What's wrong with a officer putting down a suspicious man? His life also at risk under that circumstance but they are acting like only black life matters. I'll tell you what, black life does matter, but some of them really suck
