Showtime在2011年推出这部以反恐为题材的惊悚剧，显然是在配合911十周年的年度主题，而且来自经典反恐剧集《24小时》的幕后班底也不能不让人对这部剧产生期待。其实从现有的成片来看，情节上有很多《24小时》的影子，如连环设计的恐怖行动，还有似曾相识的审讯场面等，但在节奏和风格上两者迥然不同，《24小时》走的是动作路线，而《国土安全》走的是悬疑路线。《国土安全》是以一个被意外解救的遭基地组织囚禁8年的美军中士Brody是否已经变节为中心悬念的，关于他的身份在第一季中经历了两次反转，而且每一次都很逼真，可以说观众大部分时间是处在被误导的状态下，但由于逻辑的缜密和情感的细腻，这丝毫不影响观众对于不同状态下人物身份的认同。
此外，《国土安全》在主题上比《24小时》有着更高的追求，它实际上是在探讨美国的911创伤后遗症问题。911之后，美国警察和情报机关的权限被《爱国者法案》无限地扩大了，以反恐的名义践踏人权的情况屡遭人诟病。《国土安全》中的Brody回国之后，在没有任何确凿证据的前提下，CIA就对他进行了全天候的秘密监视居住

And what side is it on?
Is it good?
Is it evil?

dont make it americany,simple hero-villain double agent soap opera,
i got enough of this patriotic stuff out from 24 in 8 years for crying out loud.
just make it simple,just simple humanbeing struggling but on a bigger stage.
and that Issa thing going on at the end,really?I mean,I knew it will come to this,but really?
man,that was pretty lame.
